The Dan Lindner Trio
is a five-peice band comprised of students from Bates
College in Lewiston, Maine. The Trio first began in the
September of 2000, when at an Environmental House potluck
Duncan Murdoch, Julian Wiggins, and Aaron Putnam
conversed about playing music. Duncan and Julian, being
seniors, had played keys and bass (respectively) in a
previous jamband their sophomore year. Aaron mentioned
that he played guitar, so the three agreed to get
together and jam. Joining the first jam, was Craig Teicher on drums, and Alex Miller on guitar. Duncan, Julian, Aaron, Craig, and Alex instantly found a connection that would continue and become incresingly interesting and enlightening. They are part of an arising music scene at the college consisting of the funky bands Mutron and Mango Quickly, the bluesy Troublenocking, ska-band Mrs. SKAnatto, and the raps of Lyirikal Ed Walker. Dan Lindner Trio has established itself as a true-to-heart jamband, with its roots spread everywhere from the typical Phish and Dead, to Ani DiFranco, Parliament-Funkadelic, to the Nitty Gritty Dirtband, traditional Appalachain music, and the trance-groove jazz-rock of MMW and Soulive. And we actually play originals influenced by the caverns of our (actually -- usually Duncan's) bizarre minds. The Dan Lindner Trio is:
