The Dan Lindner Trio is a five-peice band comprised of students from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. The Trio first began in the September of 2000, when at an Environmental House potluck Duncan Murdoch, Julian Wiggins, and Aaron Putnam conversed about playing music. Duncan and Julian, being seniors, had played keys and bass (respectively) in a previous jamband their sophomore year. Aaron mentioned that he played guitar, so the three agreed to get together and jam.

Joining the first jam, was Craig Teicher on drums, and Alex Miller on guitar. Duncan, Julian, Aaron, Craig, and Alex instantly found a connection that would continue and become incresingly interesting and enlightening. They are part of an arising music scene at the college consisting of the funky bands Mutron and Mango Quickly, the bluesy Troublenocking, ska-band Mrs. SKAnatto, and the raps of Lyirikal Ed Walker. Dan Lindner Trio has established itself as a true-to-heart jamband, with its roots spread everywhere from the typical Phish and Dead, to Ani DiFranco, Parliament-Funkadelic, to the Nitty Gritty Dirtband, traditional Appalachain music, and the trance-groove jazz-rock of MMW and Soulive. And we actually play originals influenced by the caverns of our (actually -- usually Duncan's) bizarre minds.

The Dan Lindner Trio is:

Duncan Murdoch - keyboards, vocals, the egg

Craig Teicher - drums, and "dit, dit, dit"

Julian Wiggins - bass, moxie

Aaron Putnam - guitar, vocals, facial-contortions

Alex Miller - guitar, poster-hanger-uper-over-equestrian-club-posters

Cyclotron - pretty lights, cool in fog, has played with RANA.
